She cleaned and took care of several families over the years. Most of all, she was the most caring and loving woman in the world. She would selflessly give the shirt off her back to help anyone in need and would rather make sure everyone was taken care of ahead of herself.
He left to join the Navy in 1943, becoming a Boatswain’s Mate on a destroyer tender and served in the Navy for four years. After returning home from WWII, Louis returned to the area of his hometown. He met his wife Juletta Pauls the summer of 1947 and after a two-year courtship, they were married on July 19, 1949, the day liquor was legalized in Kansas. He had been planning a trip back to Thailand with his brother Bobby for later this month and a memorial service will be held in Koh Chang, a place he considered his second home. Bzer fought many battles in his life, including the disease of addiction. He never gave up the fight for sobriety even in the end. She was always willing to help with volunteer projects and events if she wasn’t already committed to another event. When I first asked her to judge pies at the Richland County Fair, her response was yes if I thought she would do a good job and she did for at least 17 years. I will miss her beautiful smile and dedication.
I am so sorry to hear about the loss to your family. Having worked on several committees with Doris at First Lutheran Church,she was always easy to work with and reflected kindness and sincerity. Dennis’ grandson, Damian Ramsdell was the absolute joy of his life. When Damian was born, everyone said that Dennis’ wallet flew open. If you ever had a conversation with Dennis, you very likely heard all about Damian and what a proud “Gramps” Dennis was. Dennis was blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Ivan Ramsdell Jr.

She will be dearly missed by all those who were lucky and blessed enough to know her. Bzer was the son of Dr. John E. Smith Jr. of Weymouth and his late mother Marie Smith. He also leaves behind Jen Melvin of Rockland, the mother of his only child, along with his longtime companion Kim Tiffany of Rockland and her daughter Kadence.
